Donny Lia News
Donny is ready for the Monster
After several weeks away from the track, Donny Lia returns to the SS Green Light Racing No. 07 again this Friday a the Monster Mile of Dover International Speedway. The Dover 200 will be the fourth start of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season for the New York native.

The 2007 and 2009 Whelen Modified Series Champion has one previous NCWTS start at the fast concrete Mile. In 2008, he qualified eighth finished seventeenth despite being involved in an early incident that dropped him a lap behind the leaders.

Lia is a huge supporter of Autism Speaks, a national organization dedicated to the public awareness and advocacy of the learning disorder that affects one in 110 children born each day. Lia will sport the Autism Speaks logo on his SS Green Light No. 07 Chevy this weekend.

“I really like racing at Dover,” Lia said. “It’s a very fast and challenging track. It’s not so much because of the concrete surface, which does have a lot of grip but the banking and the transitions from the banking and the straights make it difficult.”

“If you get in trouble at Dover, it can turn into a real big mess in a big hurry. The place is so fast it’s kind of like a big Bristol. I’m really looking forward to racing there with the SS Green Light team.”

Bobby Dotter, General Manager of SS Green Light Racing has a good feeling about the No. 07 team this weekend. “I think Dover will a good track for Donny. He is a very good short track racer and even though Dover is a mile track, it drives a lot like a short track.”

Lia and the SS Green Light team have been working hard with several potential sponsors for the balance of the 2010 season, Donny is upbeat about the prospects, “I thought we might have a deal put together in time for this week at Dover, but there are lots of details to works out. We’re real close and I’m confident we will have a deal done in a very short time.”

The Dover 200 will be Donny’s 28th career NCWTS start. He has one career victory at Mansfield in 2008.

There are only 35 trucks on the pre-entry list for the Dover 200.

Donny is scheduled to participate in the NCWTS Autograph Session held at the Camping World store in the NASCAR Fanzone from 1:00 to 2:00 on Friday afternoon.

There will be two practice sessions for the Dover 200 on Thursday, May 13th with qualifying at 10:00am on Friday, May 14th. The green flag falls at 4:30pm. The race will be shown tape-delayed on SPEED TV at 8:30pm. Dover is the only NCWTS race not shown live each season. The race will be broadcast live on MRN Radio.
