Donny Lia didn't enjoy quite the circumstances that he needed to battle for a victory in Sunday's Spring Sizzler.  He wasn't a threat to win the race.  But the Long Islander was able to use his own experience, along with the experience of his Mystic Missile race team, to record a respectable sixth-place finish in the second race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season.

Lia was running just outside the top 10 for much of the day, but the 2007 WMT champion was able to stay out of trouble and advance position near the end of the race. 

Lia is now ranked fourth in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour standings, just 45 points out of the lead.

The next race for Lia and the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will take place at Stafford on Friday, May 22nd.
