Donny Lia on Racing at Kentucky: “I got some laps at Kentucky with an ARCA car a few years ago so that’s good.  I’m really looking forward to going to Kentucky.  It should be fun.  The guys are working hard at the shop.  Hopefully we can run better than we have in the past at the mile-and-a-half tracks.  It would be good to run better and get the morale up a little bit at the shop.”

What Donny Has Been Doing: The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series enjoyed a nice two-week break after competing in seven consecutive races across the United States.  During this two-week hiatus, Donny Lia returned home to New York where he spent his time working at his hobby shop – 360 Speedway and Hobbies – and working on his house.  He also returned to his racing roots by running the NASCAR Modified race at Riverhead Raceway on Saturday, July 12th.  Lia started last but raced his way to sixth position in the 35-lap duel.

Donny Lia on Returning to Riverhead:  “I ran the modified race last Saturday at my hometown track; Riverhead Raceway.  It went pretty good.  We started last and finished sixth.  We missed the setup a little bit, but we just wanted to shake the bugs out of our car since we’ll be racing there again on August 2nd.  I’ve won that race four of the last five times and I’ll try to make it five out of six when we race there next month.”

TRG’s Truck Choice for Kentucky:  Jason Miller, Crew Chief of the No. 71 Chevrolet, has selected Chassis No. 002 as TRG’s primary piece for The Built Ford Tough 225.  This is the same truck that the team has raced four times this year; Kansas Speedway, April 26th (qualified 13th, finished 12th); Lowe’s Motor Speedway, May 16th (qualified 34th, finished 34th due to an accident); Dover International Speedway, May 30th (qualified 8th, finished 17th); and Texas Motor Speedway, June 6th (qualified 25th, finished 19th).

Donny Lia’s Raybestos® Rookie Report:  Donny Lia is closing the gap on Colin Braun in the Raybestos® Rookie of the Year standings.  Lia is tied for second, only 15 points out of first place following the last race at Memphis Motorsports Park on June 28th.
