SEASON FINALE RESULTS IN 16th PLACE FINISH AT HOMESTEAD
Donny Lia Race Post
Donny Lia and the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports/NationRides.com team finished 16th in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend.  Lia, who took a wild ride during his qualifying lap started from the 25th position after spinning out on his second lap and making slight contact with the outside retaining wall.

“We struggled all day but it was a positive ending to the night for us to come home 16th,” commented Lia.  “It was a pretty good race.  We battled some good trucks all night long and fought hard for a 16th place finish.  While it's not the finish we were looking for we worked hard for what we got.”

The Long Island, New York native broke into the top 20 within the first 10 laps and remained around the 20th spot for much of the 200-mile race.  When the second caution flag waved on lap 41, Lia brought the No. 81 RMM to the pit lane for the first time.  It was on lap 90 when he returned for his second and final stop of the night.

A late-race caution set up a green-white-checker finish and Lia took the checkered flag in the 16th position.

“Overall we are real pleased with our season,” commented David Dollar, co-owner of the RMM No. 81 Chevrolet.  “This has been a transition season for us with the addition of Randy Moss as an owner.  We had some real solid runs with several different drivers and I couldn’t be prouder of our team.  Our focus will now turn to the 2009 season and we are extremely excited about great things to come next year.”

Lia scored one top-10 finish in seven starts for the Randy Moss Motorsports team scoring a 10th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in September.
