Raybestos Rookie of the Year contender Donny Lia made his debut in the No. 81 Randy Moss Motorsports Chevrolet this weekend in the running of the Camping World RV Sales 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Lia, a native of the New England area, considers the one-mile oval his home track and has scored a win at the facility in the NASCAR Modified Series.

Starting in the 18th position after the field was set according to owner’s points, Lia settled in for 200-laps of intense racing action.  By lap 25, the Mansfield Motorsports Park winner moved his way into the top 10 where he would remain for the majority of his run.

With an obviously strong truck underneath him, Lia made it as high as the eighth position during a green-flag pit cycle and settled back into the ninth position after the pit stops were complete.  The No. 81 RMM team was looking to finish the day with a solid top-10 run when their luck turned sour.  As Lia was running in the top 10, another truck broke loose underneath the No. 81 Chevrolet and sent him hard into the outside retaining wall on lap 150.

"I guess that David (Starr) got into me getting into turn one there and turned us around,” Lia said after being released from the track’s infield car center.  “We had a really good truck and I need to thank everybody at Randy Moss Motorpsorts and David Dollar and all the guys gave me a great truck.  It's a shame.  I wish we could have got a good finish for them but sometimes that's the way it goes."

The damage to the NationRides.com Chevrolet was too severe for Lia to continue and the team was credited with the 29th-finishing position for the day.

“We were really just hoping for a solid run today with Donny,” stated co-owner David Dollar.  “We had a top-10 run going and that’s just what this team needed.  Unfortunately we won’t have the results to show it.  We are proud of all these guys at Randy Moss Motorsports and the hard work they put into these trucks each week.  We look forward to another strong run at Las Vegas next week.”

Lia will return to the driver’s seat for next week’s running of the Qwik Liner Las Vegas 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  Live coverage of Racing action will begin at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on SPEED on Saturday, September 20, 2008.  The event will also be broadcast live on MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio with coverage beginning at 9:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
