Donny Lia has raced at tracks all throughout the Northeast, but this weekend’s stop at Jennerstown Speedway (PA) will be a new experience for him. The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour returns to the fast half-mile track for the first time since 1999.
Lia rides into Jennerstown on a bit of a roll. He has made it up to third in the Modified Tour point standings after running into problems in the first two events of 2005.
His last three races have been very impressive with a third-place finish at Riverhead Raceway (NY) followed up with a victory at Waterford Speedbowl that was so dominating that nobody else led all race long. Last week, Lia had some bad luck but overcame it. He got caught
up in an early wreck at Stafford Motor Speedway, but came back to finish 10th.
The The Wheeler Brothers 150 at Jennerstown is scheduled to start at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.
