Donny Lia Looking for a Stafford Win
A Fall Final Victory Would Help Make One of Lia's '05 Goals
Donny Lia has racked up some pretty impressive stats at Stafford Motor Speedway.  In his last four NASCAR Modified starts there, he has earned three Bud Pole awards.  In his last five races there, he has four top 10 finishes.  But what Lia doesn’t have yet at the track is a victory is a NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory.
He hopes to change that this weekend in the Fall Final.

“One of the biggest goals that I set for this season was to win a Tour race at Stafford,” said Lia.  “The track is a tricky place and you are proven as a driver every time you race there.  We’ve been fast there before and have had a car to win, but we just haven’t had the right breaks yet.”

Lia has visited victory lane at the track earlier this season in a SK Modified.

Also on Lia’s mind at Stafford in the fact that he is just outside the top five of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour point standings with only three races left to go in the 2005 season.  Lia is within 50 points of fifth-place Eric Beers and a strong run at Stafford could go a long way in making up needed ground.

Qualifying for the Fall Final at Stafford takes place this Saturday afternoon, October 1st, at 1:30pm.  The green flag for the race is set to wave at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 2nd.
