Donny Lia Grabs Hard Fought Fourth
No Power Steering Means For Tough Night
Donny Lia came into Saturday’s 150-lap Whelen Modified Tour race at Mansfield Motorsports Park without much to prove.  The New York driver had already won half of the Mod Tour races run this year (five of the first 10) and had a commanding points lead.

Its because of that that Lia and the #4 Mystic Missile team wasn’t overly excited about his fourth-place finish in Saturday’s rain-shortened event.

“We had power steering problems,” said Lia.  “I really can’t get the car to drive where I want to.  But the fact that we had power steering problems and still rain fourth shows the strength of this team.  They give me a good piece every time out.  I think we had a car that was fast enough to win.  I guess we’ll never get the chance to find out though.”

Lia has a 131 point lead heading into the next race for the Mod Tour, which will be this coming Saturday at Martinsville Speedway in Virginia.

Donny has won five Modified races this year.
