Lia Has Promising Run Go South at Shootout
LMI Team Gest Caught in Early NSS Wreck
It was a battle of the titans during the halfway point of the Hoosier 100 during the North-South Shootout at Concord Motorsport Park.  The only two drivers who had previously won the race, John Blewett, III and Donny Lia got together on the frontstretch with Lia’s car going around.
After all of the dust settled, Lia’s #18 was left with heavy front end damage and was finished for the night.  Lia was credited with a 29th-place finish.

“We had a good car,” said Lia.  “The guys worked hard and we chased it.  It ended up really good.  But it was one of those deals when we got turned around and ended up in the fence.  That ended the night.  It wasn’t what we wanted, but we are you going to do?  We’ll just give it a shot next time.”

As Lia was trying to turn his car in the right direction, he made contact with the #1 machine of NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour driver Burt Myers, which knocked Myers out for the evening.
“I was trying to get the car turned around and I got into Burt a little bit,” said Lia.  “I feel really bad about it.  I was just trying to get the car off the wall when he was going by.  I ended up getting into him and ending his night.  I feel really bad and went over to him to tell him that I was sorry about it.  It wasn’t what I was looking to do.”

Lia will return to action on November 24th-25th for the Mason-Dixon Meltdown at South Boston Speedway (VA).
